Many people report these offers to us, pointing out that a) they are unsolicited messages (in other words, they don't know how the sender found out they were looking for work), and b) the jobs never match the their experience. We believe it because good, hard-working people like you are writing us emails and leaving comments for everyone else to see.

But let's talk a bit more about this message and why it's suspicious. The email is from "unequaledjobs.com" but they want you to fill out an online form at "gounequaledjobs.com."  They never really state their company name. What's more, when you do a WHOIS on either of these domains, they turn out to be owned by Career Network. We happen to know (thanks to the magic that is www.domaintools.com) that Career Network buys up domains in the thousands, sets them all up with essentially identical content, and then encourages individuals they solicited via email to complete their online forms. You are usually asked in these forms if you're interested in learning more about educational opportunities, and quite often you're asked some other weird question, like who your cell phone provider is.

There's this site we like to visit now and then called TrustedSource.org. If you type in the name of an email server or IP address it will tell you the mail behavior coming from there. These guys are on the radar and the sender is labeled malicious. Can you imagine how easy it would be for a malicious person to call your cell carrier, give the right phone number, name and address and get a password reset? It's just a hop, skip and a jump to your bank account or credit card from there.

A quick read of the privacy policies at these sites *SHOULD* discourage you from submitting your information. They are going to share it with others, make no mistake. You WILL receive more junk mail, as some of our readers have reported.

We thought long and hard about what to call these offers and finally decided on bait and switch (a term the Federal Trade Commission can appreciate) because these offers appear to just lure you with a well-written job description for a job that doesn't exist, only to capture your information and provide it to their advertisers for a kickback. They claim to forward your resume to the employer, and maybe they do, but all they're doing is aggregating jobs from the web (sort of the way Indeed.com does, a site we like) and acting like they're recruiting for these jobs. The employer doesn't actually know them any better than they know YOU. 

Suspicious? You decide. It's your personal info, after all.
